Dear Senator McConnell:

Secure America’s Future Economy, an all-volunteer, nonpartisan “think tank,” has been advocating smaller, more focused, less costly government since 1996. The government’s budget should be balanced every year, in our view, and the best way to do this is to cut wasteful government spending and minimize regulatory red tape.

While mindful of the need to provide economic relief during the coronavirus pandemic, we believe it’s imperative to avoid going overboard in this regard – and also to start planning now for a major course correction in order to balance the budget by 2025.

SAFE’s recommendations have been incorporated in a letter to President Trump, which is posted on our website: Secure America’s Future Economy – Outreach – Letters to legislators –
4/10/20. We urge you to review this letter, share it with others who might be interested, and support its recommendations.

Please advise if you have any questions or we can help further.

William Whipple III, President
Secure America’s Future Economy
