Recap of Carper meeting (DE members)

Recap of meeting with Senator Tom Carper (10/28/19 blog entry) was mailed to his Kent County office and to the Wilmington offices of Senator Chris Coons & Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester.

Dear Senator Carper:

Jim Thomen and I enjoyed visiting you on October 4 and thought the discussion was very constructive. It’s encouraging that we agree on the importance of the fiscal problem, and your reminder about the balanced budgets during the Clinton era was quite apropos. We also plan to keep the “80/20 rule” in mind; it makes a lot of sense.

I took the liberty of covering the meeting in SAFE’s blog and am enclosing a copy of the entry for your information. It includes the main points discussed, plus some post-meeting reflections that you may find of interest. (See also the on-line post with functional links: Secure America’s Future Economy – Blog – 10/28/19.)

Please let me know if you have any questions or we can help further.

Sincerely,

William Whipple III

PS. Thanks also to Lauren Mincey and the other members of your office that we met.

If the idea that presidential candidates should be offering plans for addressing the fiscal problem seems appealing, we would appreciate your help in passing it on.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

William Whipple III
