Dear Senator Coons:

SAFE has been a long-time advocate (22+ years) of fiscal responsibility. We are nonpartisan, independent, and do our homework before offering opinions. How many advocacy groups can say the same?

If you or someone on your staff would like to peruse our recent blog entries, it's easy to do - just visit the blog page on the Save America's Future Economy website and voila. Life can get busy, however, so perhaps you're not aware that we have quoted you from time to time. For example:

•Your efforts to negotiate a bipartisan compromise on the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) issue were duly noted, including an interview by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. GOP won shutdown skirmish, Section II, 1/29/18.

•Circa 1:00 a.m. on February 9, you expressed frustration with Senator Rand Paul's delay of the bipartisan budget deal. More shutdown drama, mediocre results, 2/12/18.

Looking ahead, there don't appear to be 60 votes in the Senate for any of the DACA bills that have been offered. Accordingly, it might make sense for the Senate to stack arms on the issue until the House passes a bill. Let's make the budget process work, Section III,
2/19/18. We would welcome your questions or comments on this score.
